Going on hiatus| 4/6/12 | 9:49am
Starting April 10th through the 18th, Flesh Trap will be going on a temporary hiatus. I will be leaving town for New York City and abandoning the laptop at home, as I’m a cheap bitch who doesn’t want to pay another $30 for a carry-on bag. Also, it’s my vacation, I get to do what I want. Updates will resume the following week, for great justice.
Deuces.

Syndication for the masses of 2002 | 2/18/12 | 9:37am
For those of you still of the Livejournal persuasion, there’s now a syndicated Flesh Trap feed for your reading pleasure. It hasn’t fetched the entire backlog of updates, but it is current. And if you want to follow us on Facebook, be sure to give us a thumbs up there too.

Progress is the opposite of congress | 2/2/12 | 8:41am
The thirty-seventh chapter is up today, and we’re now halfway through the serial. Exciting times, isn’t it? In case you’re just joining us, Harold is dead and Paul is trying to get into Joel’s emotional pants. Yes, I know, quite tragic. Work and school and more work has kind of swept up the lives and free-time of my contributors and partners in crime, but I hear the Reverend has some stuff from the soundtrack to post soon. Hope to see you all then.

Time passing by | 12/22/11 | 1:23pm
The holiday season has snuck up on me this year, so sorry for the inconsistent blogging. Chapters twenty-four and twenty-five are up this week. Harold, my personal favorite skater-punk corner store clerk, has gone and died, and Casey’s being followed by that suspicious box. We’re a third of the way in now, and things will continue to get far worse for Casey before they get better. He has to contend with this slow burn of chaos, on top of trouble at home and in the therapist’s office as well. Can he figure out where this box came from and what it wants? Will he and Joel figure out their problems before somebody else gets eaten?
Guess you’ll have to wait and see.

Especially in Michigan | 11/17/11 | 8:09am
Chapters fourteen and fifteen are now up, and we have a new layout. Casey and Mariska are finally heading back to their childhood home, and Casey and Joel reach an impasse in their relationship. What will the brother and sister find in the remains of David’s house, and will it be worth Joel walking out? Next week it’s all downhill from here, so I hope you enjoy the ride.
In other news, I just wanted to issue a quick welcome to all the new readers that have been popping up in the last week. We’re glad to have you on-board and hope you like what you see here in the future.

The morning after | 11/01/11 | 1:00pm
My brain is still fuzzy from Halloween festivities, so excuse the mess. I spent the night covered in blood and chasing small children. Chapter ten is up today, and we’ve had a recent huge surge in site-traffic. Thanks to everybody who’s retweeted and link-shared in helping to get the novel out there. There are also two new illustrations (read: doodles) in the art gallery, so feel free to stop by and take a look. As always, thanks for reading.
Until the next time, when I’m hopefully more coherent.

Rolling on the river | 10/27/11 | 7:32am
Good morning. Chapters eight and nine are up this week, following Casey’s first strange look into his fractured childhood memories. We also get a little more acquainted with Paul, Casey’s therapist and Joel’s former professor. What exactly are his intentions? Is he here to help Casey or to harm him? And is he actually a vampire, as Casey keeps insisting, or just a douche with the flare for the dramatics? I guess you’ll have to wait and see.
In the next week I expect to have some more art up to post in the illustration gallery, so watch this space!

Joining the 21st Century | 10/13/11 / 10:59am
Chapter five is up this morning, where we all get a good hard look at Joel. He happens to be my girlfriend’s favorite character. (She is the president of the Joel Britton Fan Club, after all.) In other news this morning, the Flesh Trap Facebook page is up and waiting for your much desired Like. Easily keep up with chapters and news while you obsessively stalk ex-girlfriends and celebrities! It’s a win/win! So if you like the novel so far, stop by the page and give it a thumbs up. We’d really appreciate it.
But enough about me. How are you?

I like to move in the night | 10/10/11 | 11:45am
Good morning, good day, good evening. The responses coming in both on-site and elsewhere have been extremely encouraging, so thanks so much to everybody who’s left comments or made blog posts about Flesh Trap. My tiny private army of volunteers and I truly appreciate it. This is a labor of love for everybody involved, so me and Anna and the Reverend are all glad to hear that people are enjoying it so far.
The fourth and fifth chapters are ready to go online this week, where we finally meet Joel and Mariska, and see just how they fit into Casey’s life. I realize the first three chapters are a bit slow, but I wanted the world to be as fully developed as possible before settling into the overall plot of the novel. Just know this: Once things start to get bloody, they don’t stop until the last chapter. So watch this space. I promised you psychological horror, did I not?
So thanks for stopping by, and I hope you stick around for the future. Most of all, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Trials and Errors | 10/4/11 | 4:22pm
New chapter, new layout, constant fine-tuning. We’re learning as we go with this one, finding new avenues of promotion and accessibility, and trying to keep a clean house. How are we doing? Thoughts? Comments? Fine French wine? Personal threats? Let us know. Drop us a line. We’d love to hear all about it.

Opening Day | 10/1/11 | 9:17am
This has been over a year in the making. Two longhand drafts, around twelve separate revisions. Countless updates and read-throughs, questions and critiques. All leading here, to Flesh Trap’s opening day. It’s scary and a little overwhelming, but it’s also exciting.
The first chapter went live today, to some well-appreciated fanfare from friends and readers who have stuck with me during this process. Thanks to everybody out there for their support. Without that initial interest and push, I don’t think the novel would have come as far as it has. In a nice turn, Anna sent me the final portrait illustrations today, which I’m so pleased about. They’ve been added to the About section as well as Illustrations, and they look amazing.
The ball’s rolling now. Slowly but surely down the line, with reblogs and retweets driving up interest. Listings at serialized fiction directories and Wikis are hopefully forthcoming. It’s all about trying to grab people’s attention, get them interested, get them involved. Tap-dancing for my life, with a little help from my friends. If you like what you’ve read, do us a favor and let us know. Leave a comment.,share a link, drop a line. Every little bit helps and would be most appreciated.
Chapters two and three are scheduled for publication this upcoming Tuesday and Thursday. I’ll see you there.
